Re: My Raw Living Foods Challenge Journal: The Raw Runner

Hey, Ceraphina! Nice to see you.

Congrats on the juicer. As Cord said, it looks pretty skookum! Of course, I'm also showing off that I've now lived in Canada long enough to know what skookum means...

Great to hear what you're up to!

How have things been going for you?

I don't drink juice as a rule (prefer my fruits and vegetables whole when possible), but that machine looks pretty skookum!

Not being afraid of spending money on your health - very wise.
Hard to think of something more important to spend money on, actually.
Great!

I cut out juice too a couple of years ago, but this is RAW juice..haha

I have no idea what skookum is, it must be a B.C. thing...

My understanding is the source is a First Nations word that means, basically, "That's cool!" I don't know which band it comes from, though. It might be a BC band.

Which is really cool, because not only am I learning Canadian, I'm learning regionalisms within Canada.

I know that Skookumchuk means, either something good or something bad. I also know that Wapuksus means, little mouse.

I don't really place it as being *Canadian* , because to me, the term, Canadian isn't a melting pot such as the USA. Canadian is anyone/everyone that's come to live in Canada. Canadian is such a vast amount of people/cultures/religions/languages, pretty much like the US.

Sorry peeps, I've readjusted my photobucket account, & forgot about all my pics there, that are used for here. So in due time, I will have to get them replaced again.

Oh & for future reference could you ppl please address me as RunningGirl or RG. When I've given my name through PM, it's kind of out of trust. I know I've let it slip & not said anything, but I'd rather ppl use the name that I've given in public, if I wanted my real name used, I would have used it. Thanks so much! =)
