Some LurV3Ly HUGE Steak Tom's: I only ever seem to have hugely intense cravings for toms, & they never last:

A site for why we have craving's for particular things: http://www.naturopathyworks.com/pages/cravings.php could be anything from: Magnesium to Carbon to NaCI (salt) because I have them now with Apple Cider Vinegar to Tyrosine...

Just sharing some that I bought a couple of weeks back:

This is someone that I wanted to share with you, that lost weight from switching to SAD to a Raw Vegan Lifestyle with Exercise. I've asked for his permission to share this photo & his information about how he did it, can be found here: www.yeowzers.com

Wow that's impressive. He looks good.

Have you ever made gazpacho, C? It's my favorite summer soup and is sooooo good with fresh summer tomatoes. A really good, easy recipe is on Pioneer Woman's blog:
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/06/gazpacho/

Sooooo yummy.

No I haven't but that looks simply delicious!! I keep seeing Gazpacho, & now I have a simple fun recipe to try! Thanks Kara! Especially if I added some dehydrated crackers later on when I actually own a dehydrator. With some raw sour cream or raw cheeses, somethin somethin...What a great meal that would be!

Sooo you think you have to give up your foods that you love on SAD??, think again, here is a collection, I tried to not use as many, but I couldn't help myself!

If there is something that you love & would like me to see if I have, lemme know! OW OW!! I should add, that these are ALL RAW VEGAN Dishes, non are Cooked or processed or steamed, they may be dehydrated anywhere from 108-118, anywhere from 6 hours to 72 hours.

The reason you may notice things such as *Mashed Potatoes* or *rice balls*, most Raw Vegans, don't have potatoes because of their high starch content & I have an idea that Raw Mashed taters aren't too appealing. or Rice because they're harder to digest, & although they can be soaked to make softer, they just don't go there. That is where the Cauliflower comes in handy.

I will be experimenting however with brown/wild/savoury rice's to grind. I may give a try to Raw Mashed Potatoes gotta live on the edge once & awhile.

Re: My Raw Living Foods Challenge Journal: The Raw Runner

I am doing well. I am just pretty much done with journal forum life. Because I am feeling better & building support IRL.

If you turn to Raw, just remember to listen to your own body!!

I might add something here once in a bit, but I believe I've given a pretty good outline of what Raw may mean.

As well as I am branching out from Raw Vegan, as I am sure ppl can notice (raw animal product). I am building some good muscle!

SAD: Calories in vs Calories Out

Raw Vegan: 3000-6000 cals/day if working out. I get most of my cals from sprouts. Garbanzos, lentils, quinoa, ground wild rice

Good Luck & Take Care!

Re: My Raw Living Foods Challenge Journal: The Raw Runner

That's great that you're finally able to move on past the Internet. It's also great that you're feeling much better and receiving the support in your real life!

You left behind a great legacy with this journal and I'm sure it's going to benefit many people as they decide to delve into a healthier way of life.

Way to go on the muscle building! You should be able to add some decent mass with that amount of calories.

Take care of yourself and I wish you the best of luck in your future.

Smile Re: My Raw Living Foods Challenge Journal: The Raw Runner

I bought a Omega 1000 Juicer about 2 1/2 months ago, & it's totally Kickarse!!

It sells for $250-$300 new (I believe that is Canadian) BUT!!!!

I bought it for $25.oo off of Craigslist & it works great!

I have made Orange Juice, which I find tastes very thick, not just because it foams, it could have been the oranges I was using, & oddly I always LOVED that Tropicana Extra Pulp O.J. but this thickness just isn't the same, so I water it down to thin it out a bit.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE Juiced Ripe Red Grapefruits!! Drinking it tastes almost like a soft serving of creamy ice cream! It's out of this World!!

Before when I used my blender to juice carrots, the pulp was still very full of juice, & I was bummed about not being able to use it in a raw carrot cake/muffin recipe. BUT now, it's dry as a bone!!

Also I LOVE juicing apple's with ginger & nutmeg, it's great no matter how I juice them, BUT I'd prefer to juice it with the Blender IF I want Apple Sauce.

Oh I forgot to add, I am spending the same amount as I was last year with what I now call, *Healthy Cooked*, $400.oo is my basic amount, & I don't HAVE to spend it every month. When I was trying to eat intuitively I ended up spending WAAY TOO MUCH money for my budget. I eat my basic's, change them up every once in awhile & when I do have cravings for what I can only narrow down to right now (example: calcium) I buy Broccoli, ect, so I have a little extra now & than to spend. I have also decided not to be afraid of spending money on my health: I.E. Food & My Tools for the kitchen, & any healing herbs, or powders. It keeps the excitement up too.

Good to see you around again, Ceraphina!

How have things been going for you?

I don't drink juice as a rule (prefer my fruits and vegetables whole when possible), but that machine looks pretty skookum!

Not being afraid of spending money on your health - very wise.
Hard to think of something more important to spend money on, actually.
